Thank you for signing up to join us as a volunteer at the Angkor Wat Bike4Kids! Our event can’t succeed without the help of generous people like yourself, and we are so grateful for your help.
Volunteering is very simple. On the morning of the race, we’ll ask you to arrive bright and early, around 3:30am! You will be put into a group of about 5 people, and will be assigned a location on the course route. Your job will be to distribute water to ride participants, and to give directions to the rider based on the distance they’re cycling (17km, 30km, or 100km). This will require you to be loud and energetic, with large arm movements to indicate the direction they need to travel in!
Volunteers should expect to be on-site for about 9 hours (the race finishes by noon). While volunteers are provided with drinks and snacks, we highly recommend that you also bring your own snacks and additional drinks for the day. Remember that the day will be long and hot, so prepare yourself appropriately! We recommend that you:
- Dress for hot weather
- Wear comfortable shoes – chairs are not provided so you will be on your feet
- Wear a hat
- Bring sunscreen and bugspray/insect repellent
- Pack drinks and snacks
Volunteers will be given a race t-shirt as a thank-you gift. Please note that while volunteers can access the Angkor Wat temple complex on the day of the race, they will not be provided with a temple pass, and therefore cannot enter onto temple grounds that require a pass.
If you have questions about volunteering, or would like to sign-up as a volunteer, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. Your name will be added to our volunteer list, and more details will be provided closer to the event date. Thank you for your support!
